Publications - BS 7369:1991

The British Standard BS 7369:1991 (A specification for a multi-frequency tone signalling protocol for social alarm systems) was published by the British Standards Institute in February 1991. This standard is the only openly published communication protocol for social alarm systems and copies of the standard may be purchased from The British Standards Institute.

The Association's members have worked together to produce a standardised implementation of BS 7369.The following publications are available, subject to our published copyright terms.

BS 7369:1991 - Developing a standardised implementation - Agreement on the allocation and use of codes

Users of equipment utilising this standardised implementation are assured of compatability between alarm units and receiving equipment sourced from different manufacturers.
